However, her shine is starting to fade when she finds out she has a brain tumor that has to be removed. My 6th grader said this one is funny, sad and couldn't put it down! Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger I've had this one in my closet for a long time and my 6th grader finally decided it wasn't too big to read. We did read the first 3-4 chapters together to get acclimated to the new characters and setting. Loved this one and is excited to read the second installment.
